We arrived here in Koppal this morning on the overnight train and had a lovely welcome from the Samuha staff at the station. It is lovely to be back here among old friends. I am here with Lesley and Dennis Schwab.
After settling in, we visited the spinal cord injury centre. There are 13 clients there for 1 to 3 months and they were all working out in the gym when we got there. It was so good to see and they are in a beautiful setting surrounded by trees and lots of greenery and it feels like a healing spa. It is so peaceful. We shall be spending a lot of our time there over the next couple of weeks and helping out as needed.
We spent one day in Bangalore shopping and exchanging our worthless 500 rupee notes for 100s as they had just demonetised their currency. There were huge line-ups at all the banks and we stood in line for 2 hours but eventually had success. We also walked all over the city and put on 17 kms while absorbing the sights.
I am looking forward to spending time with familiar clients and old friends here. Will keep you posted.
